What’s holding you back?

By Sondra Whitt

Most of us suffer in varying degrees from what is known as cognitive dissonance which is the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes, especially as relating to behavioral decisions and attitude change. In layman’s terms, we say one thing and do another – which keeps us from accomplishing what we really want and creates an internal conflict.

For example, we say we want to lose weight but engage in behaviors that put on the pounds. We want to accomplish our goals but can’t seem to find the time to work towards those goals. We want to have a good relationship with someone but find ourselves in constant conflict with that person.

We may want to be a better husband, wife, father, mother, boss, employee or coworker. We may want to start a business or make the business we have more successful. We may know what we want but there’s always something that seems to be holding us back. The problem is we may not even know what it is or understand how to overcome it.

As an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist, I have coached many people through the process of identifying what they want, figuring out what’s holding them back and developing a process to close that gap. As a starting point in that process I often use a variety of assessments.

I’d like to give you the opportunity to “test drive” a new assessment I’m offering for a limited time at absolutely no charge. The report you receive after completing the online questionnaire will reveal your behavior pattern, the forces that drive it and your Emotional Quotient (EQ) which is your ability to sense, understand and effectively use the power of your emotions. If you understand your natural behavior style, what drives your behavior and how to harness the power of your emotions, you’ll be on your way to freeing yourself from what’s holding you back from what you want.

To receive your complimentary assessment, go to https://www.ttisurvey.com/367171XAS and just follow the instructions. You’ll receive your report immediately after completing the questionnaire. This link expires April 30. If you have questions, please email me at sondra@purposeunlimited.com.
