Now that you’ve hired Jim to speak at your meeting please take moment to complete this brief questionnaire to help him prepare.
WAIT! THERE'S ONE MORE THING WE NEED AFTER YOU'VE COMPLETED THE QUESTIONNAIRE.
There are many things that can make or break a presentation. To make sure we maximize your return on investment, please give us a call at 918-494-0009 and we'll go over the following list together.
Room Setup
- This is critical! A poor room is to a presentation what the iceberg was to the Titanic. If every member of the audience cannot see the speaker at all times, they miss a critical part of the presentation. Also, any distractions from hallways, open doors or adjoining rooms distract the audience. Experience has taught us that these things will ruin a presentation. In a large room, it may be necessary to have a riser for the speaker to work from.
Introduction
- We will provide you with an introduction prior to the presentation. It is critical to read the introduction with enthusiasm, clarity and exactly as it is written. The introduction positions the speaker, letting the audience know what to expect. A poor introduction is difficult to overcome. A great introduction is the first critical step to a great presentation.
Sound System
- It is essential that the sound system work properly. Jim prefers to use a wireless clip-on microphone to allow him to more effectively interact with the audience. He also needs a wireless handheld mike to use with participants from the audience.
Audio/Visual Equipment
- Some presentations may require the use of Power Point. If so, let's discuss computers, projectors and screens. In some cases, flip charts may be needed.
Luncheons & Banquet Presentations
- If this is an after-dinner presentation or luncheon, please arrange to have the tables cleared before or after the presentation. To start a presentation while the audience is still eating is another recipe for disaster. It is better to wait a few minutes than to try to rush.
Presentations Outdoors
- If the presentation is to be conducted outdoors, make sure it is away from traffic, children playing or other obvious distractions. Set the stage against a solid background where the audience won't be distracted by movement behind the speaker.
Alcohol Consumption
- If the presentation is to be conducted where a bar is set up, close the bar during the presentation and open it afterward. Alcohol consumption prior to a presentation should be minimized.
1 Hour before the Presentation
- Please arrange to meet the speaker at the meeting room 1 hour prior to the presentation to check the sound, audio/visual and take care of any last minute details.

- Please send us a copy of your meeting program and agenda/flyers/newsletter and any other materials that might help us prepare for your meeting. You can email materials to info@purposeunlimited.com or mail them to our address below:
