Road Signs for Success – April 30, 2008

By Sondra Whitt Ever feel like you’re stuck when you need to make a decision and don’t know what to do? Unfortunately, our emotions often cloud our thinking when faced with the pressure of making a big decision. To make wise choices and avoid acting on impulse we need to engage in a logical thought process. So, think about this. If your life was a movie how would you write the script? This is one of the methods that Dr. Henry Cloud, author of 9 Things You Simply MUST DO to Succeed in Love and Life, has found that successful… Read More

Road Signs for Success – April 23, 2008

By Sondra Whitt I really hate labels. The kind that says someone can’t do or be something because they are too “young, old, dumb, smart, educated, uneducated, ugly, beautiful, rich, poor, liberal, conservative, introverted, outgoing, young, old, fat or thin.” The list is endless. Any of those things may be true about a person but just because they’re true, that doesn’t mean that’s all there is to the person or that they’re limited because of that truth. By Paula Lau In February, my thirteen year old son and I were driving to school one day, when he began to tell me how things had taken a turn for the worse in his love life. You see at Christmas time, he decided that he wanted to buy his little girlfriend a necklace as a gift. It was fun to take him to the accessory store and watch him look at the overwhelming selection in a nonchalant fashion as if this was something he was used to doing every day. But at last he picked out a little earring… Read More

Road Signs for Success – April 2, 2008

By Jim Whitt Years ago Sondra and I launched our first class to help individuals discover their purpose in life and start them on the path of its fulfillment. It was in the inaugural class that we were approached by a participant, Rita, who asked if we had a few minutes to spare. Rita told us she and her husband had started a nonprofit organization called Our Family Matters to offer support to families of prison inmates. What made her story particularly interesting was that her husband, Gerald, was himself in prison. Rita asked if we would be interested in… Read More
